Ingrown Hernia

An inguinal hernia occurs when tissue, often part of the intestine, pushes through a weak spot in the lower abdominal muscles near the groin area. This creates a visible bulge and may cause discomfort or pain, especially when coughing, lifting, or standing. It is more common in men and can develop gradually. The hernia does not heal on its own and often requires surgical repair to prevent complications like strangulation, where blood supply to the trapped tissue is cut off. Recognizing symptoms early and seeking medical attention ensures effective treatment and reduces the risk of complications.
