Induction Coil

An induction coil is a device used to generate high-voltage electrical pulses from a lower voltage source. It consists of two wire coils wrapped around an iron core—primary and secondary coils. When current flows through the primary coil, it creates a magnetic field that rapidly changes, inducing a high voltage in the secondary coil due to electromagnetic induction. This sudden high voltage can produce sparks or is used in applications like partial discharges testing, spark gaps, or ignition systems. Essentially, it transforms a small electrical input into a much larger electrical pulse using magnetic fields.
