Individual Unemployability

Individual Unemployability is a benefit provided by the VA that allows veterans with service-connected disabilities to receive compensation at the full disability rate, even if their disabilities don’t meet the traditional criteria for total disability. This applies when their condition prevents them from securing or maintaining substantially gainful employment. Essentially, it's a way to acknowledge that specific disabilities can be severely limiting and deserving of full financial support, reflecting the veteran’s inability to work due to their service-related health issues. Approval depends on medical evidence showing the impairment's impact on employment capabilities.
