Individual Taxpayers
Individual taxpayers are people who earn income—such as wages, salaries, or investment gains—and are responsible for reporting this income to the government. Based on their earnings, they may owe taxes, which fund public services like education, healthcare, and infrastructure. Filing a tax return annually helps individuals calculate the amount of tax owed or determine if they've overpaid and are due a refund. Everyone with taxable income from employment, self-employment, or investments is considered an individual taxpayer. Their tax obligations are governed by national or local tax laws, which determine rates, deductions, and credits available.
