Indian numeral system

The Indian numeral system is a method of counting and writing numbers used predominantly in India. It features unique digit groupings: the first three digits from the right form a three-digit group (hundreds), while subsequent groups are in pairs (thousands, lakhs, crores). For example, 1,23,45,678 represents twelve million three hundred forty-five thousand six hundred seventy-eight. This system uses specific names for large numbers and is characterized by its distinct commas placement, making large numbers manageable and easy to read within the cultural context. It’s different from the Western system but serves similar purposes of numerical representation.
