Indian National Committee for Space Research
The Indian National Committee for Space Research (INCOSPAR), established in 1962, was a pioneering organization that laid the foundation for India’s space program. It coordinated efforts to develop space technology and explore its applications, such as satellite communication and weather forecasting. Led by scientists like Dr. Vikram Sarabhai, INCOSPAR helped initiate India’s first satellite project, Aryabhata. It eventually evolved into the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), which now manages India’s advanced space missions. INCOSPAR’s role was crucial in shaping India’s capabilities in space science and technology, fostering national growth and scientific progress.
