Indian Left
The Indian Left refers to political groups and parties advocating for socialism, equitable wealth distribution, workers’ rights, and social justice. Historically rooted in communist and socialist ideas, they aim to reduce economic inequality and promote government intervention in the economy. Prominent among these are parties like the Communist Party of India (CPI) and Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI-M). While their influence has waned at the national level, they remain significant in certain regions, emphasizing public ownership, social welfare, and anti-imperialist policies. Indian Left voices concern about capitalism’s inequalities and champions a more equitable society.
