Indian Guides
Indian Guides was a character role-playing program for young boys, created by the Boy Scouts of America in the mid-20th century. It fostered leadership, responsibility, and character development through outdoor activities, storytelling, and mentorship led by adult male sponsors, often called "tribal leaders." Participants learned about American Indian cultures respectfully and aimed to promote positive values and family involvement. The program emphasized camaraderie and personal growth in a structured, community-centered environment. It has since been discontinued and replaced by other youth programs, but its intent was to instill core virtues through engaging, experiential learning.
