Indian Foreign Service
The Indian Foreign Service (IFS) is a branch of the Indian Administrative Service responsible for representing India abroad. IFS officers manage diplomatic relations, negotiate treaties, promote trade and cultural exchanges, and protect the interests of Indian citizens overseas. They work at Indian embassies and consulates in different countries, as well as in India's Ministry of External Affairs. Becoming an IFS officer involves passing a competitive exam and rigorous training. Their role is crucial in shaping India’s foreign policy, fostering international cooperation, and ensuring effective communication between India and the global community.
