India-Pakistan Line of Control
The India-Pakistan Line of Control (LoC) is an informal boundary dividing the Kashmir region between India and Pakistan, established after the 1947 partition and subsequent conflicts. It’s not a formal international border but a ceasefire line that separates Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir from Pakistani-administered Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. The LoC is heavily militarized, with troops, fences, and checkpoints on both sides, and occasional clashes occur due to tensions. It represents a sensitive geopolitical divide, symbolizing ongoing disputes over Kashmir’s sovereignty and the complex relationship between the two nations.
