Inca Inti Raymi
Inti Raymi, or the "Festival of the Sun," is an ancient Inca ceremony that honors Inti, the sun god. Celebrated in Peru, especially near Cusco, it marks the winter solstice and the start of the new agricultural cycle. Traditionally, priests performed rituals to thank the sun for its energy and ensure a bountiful harvest. Today, it remains a vibrant cultural event, featuring reenactments, traditional music, costume displays, and ceremonies that connect communities with their Inca heritage and the honoring of nature’s cycles.
