Improvised Explosive Device (IED) Disposal

IED disposal involves carefully identifying, assessing, and neutralizing explosive devices designed to cause harm. Experts assess the device’s components, trigger mechanisms, and environment to develop a safe plan. Using specialized tools and protective equipment, they often disable or safely detonate the device at a controlled location—sometimes remotely or via robotic systems—to prevent injury or damage. The process requires extensive training, precision, and caution because IEDs are unpredictable and dangerous.
