Improved Oil Recovery

Improved Oil Recovery (IOR) refers to techniques used to extract more oil from an oil reservoir after the initial extraction methods become less effective. As natural pressure decreases, not all oil can be easily retrieved with simple methods like drilling and pumping. IOR involves advanced methods—such as injecting water, gas, or chemicals—to push remaining oil toward production wells. These techniques maximize the amount of oil recovered from existing reserves, making extraction more efficient and extending the lifespan of oil fields while minimizing waste.
