Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition

The Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition (1914-1917) was led by Sir Ernest Shackleton with the goal of crossing Antarctica from coast to coast. The expedition's ship, the Endurance, became trapped and was eventually crushed by ice, leaving the crew stranded. Despite severe conditions, Shackleton's leadership enabled all 27 men to survive, as he and a few others made perilous sea journeys to seek rescue. The expedition is renowned for its remarkable story of survival, resilience, and leadership amidst one of the most extreme environments on Earth.
