Imperial Family of Russia

The Imperial Family of Russia, also known as the Romanovs, was the ruling dynasty from 1613 until the monarchy's fall in 1917. Led by the tsar, they held absolute power over Russia's political and religious life. The family included the emperor (tsar), his wife, children, and close relatives. Notable figures include Tsar Nicholas II, who was executed with his family during the Russian Revolution. The Romanovs’ reign saw Russia’s expansion, cultural development, and eventually, revolution and abolition of monarchy. They are remembered for their autocratic rule, tragic end, and their place in Russian history and tradition.
