Imperial Austria
Imperial Austria, also known as the Austro-Hungarian Empire, was a multi-ethnic empire in Central Europe from 1867 to 1918. It was ruled by the Habsburg monarchy and included diverse groups such as Germans, Hungarians, Czechs, Slovaks, Serbs, Croats, and others. The empire was characterized by complex political structures, with Austria and Hungary operating semi-independently under a common emperor. Its strategic location made it a major European power, but internal ethnic tensions and nationalist movements contributed to weakening the stability of the empire, ultimately leading to its dissolution after World War I.
