Imperforate Anus
Imperforate anus is a birth condition where a baby’s opening to the rectum (the final part of the digestive tract) is missing or blocked. Instead of a normal opening outside the body, the rectum may be closed off or not connected properly to the anus. This can cause difficulty with passing stool. The condition often occurs with other urinary or genital abnormalities. Treatment usually involves surgery to create or re-establish the normal route for waste to exit the body. Early diagnosis and intervention are important for healthy digestion and development.
