Immunochromatography
Immunochromatography is a laboratory technique used to quickly detect specific substances, such as antibodies or pathogens, in a sample like blood or urine. It works by combining the sample with tiny particles labeled with antibodies that recognize the target. As the mixture moves through a test strip via capillary action, if the target is present, it binds to these particles and forms a visible line or signal on the strip. This method is widely used for rapid tests—like pregnancy tests or COVID-19 test kits—because it provides quick, reliable results without complex equipment.
