Immunoassay

An immunoassay is a laboratory technique that detects and measures specific substances, such as hormones, drugs, or pathogens, by using the unique binding between an antibody and its target (antigen). The process involves antibodies designed to recognize the substance of interest, which, when present in a sample like blood or urine, bind to it. A detection system then measures this binding, providing information about the presence or quantity of the substance. Immunoassays are widely used in medical diagnostics, environmental testing, and research for their accuracy and sensitivity.
