Immune Dysregulation

Immune dysregulation occurs when the immune system, which normally protects the body from infections and harmful substances, doesn't function correctly. Instead of responding appropriately, it may become overactive, attacking the body's own tissues (autoimmunity), or underactive, failing to defend against real threats (immunodeficiency). This imbalance can lead to various health problems, including chronic inflammation, autoimmune diseases, and increased susceptibility to infections. Understanding immune dysregulation helps in diagnosing and treating conditions where the immune system's regulation is disrupted.
