Immigrant integration models
Immigrant integration models describe approaches to helping newcomers adapt and participate fully in society. Common models include assimilation, where immigrants adopt the host country's culture; multiculturalism, which values maintaining one's original culture while integrating; and interculturalism, emphasizing dialogue and mutual understanding between cultures. Some models focus on language acquisition, employment opportunities, or social inclusion. The goal is to create policies that support immigrants' economic, social, and cultural participation, fostering cohesive, diverse communities. Different countries adopt different models based on their values, history, and societal needs.
