Imetelstat

Imetelstat is a drug being researched for treating certain types of blood cancers, like myelofibrosis and essential thrombocythemia. It works by inhibiting a specific enzyme called telomerase, which is often active in cancer cells, allowing them to divide and grow uncontrollably. By blocking this enzyme, imetelstat aims to stop the cancer cells from replicating and help slow down disease progression. It is still undergoing clinical trials to determine its effectiveness and safety for patients.
