Illyrian tribes
Illyrian tribes were a group of ancient peoples who inhabited the western Balkans, roughly from modern-day Albania to parts of Croatia and Montenegro, during the Iron Age and early Roman period. These tribes were organized into various clans and communities, often engaged in farming, warfare, and trade. They spoke Illyrian languages, which are now extinct, and had their distinct social structures and cultural practices. Though they lacked a unified state, they shared common traditions and fought against external enemies like the Romans and Greeks. Their legacy influenced regional history and contributed to the ethnogenesis of Albanian and other Balkan peoples.
