IGRA kits

IGRA kits, or Interferon-Gamma Release Assays, are blood tests used to detect if someone has been infected with tuberculosis (TB). They work by measuring how the immune system responds to TB bacteria proteins in the blood. A positive result indicates TB exposure, but doesn't distinguish between active disease and latent infection. IGRA tests are more precise than traditional skin tests, require only a blood sample, and are less affected by prior BCG vaccination. They are commonly used for TB screening in various populations, helping healthcare providers identify and manage infections effectively.
