Igor and Svyatoslav were important medieval Russian princes from the Kievan Rus' era. Igor, ruling in the late 10th century, is known for his military campaigns and the first recorded Russian law code. His son, Svyatoslav, became prince after Igor’s death and was renowned for expanding the territory through military strength and skilled leadership. Svyatoslav’s reign helped consolidate and strengthen Kievan Rus’, laying foundations for its cultural and political development.
