igloo
An igloo is a shelter traditionally built from blocks of compressed snow, commonly associated with Arctic and Inuit cultures. The snow's insulating properties help maintain interior warmth despite the cold outside environment. The construction involves carefully cutting and stacking snow blocks in a circular pattern, gradually building upward and inward into a dome shape. The shape, combined with the insulating snow, traps air and retains heat, making it functional and surprisingly warm inside. Igloos are an effective example of adaptive engineering, utilizing available natural materials to create a durable and insulated shelter in extreme cold conditions.
