IgG4 antibodies

IgG4 antibodies are a type of immune protein that helps the body respond to threats, such as allergens or pathogens. Unlike other antibodies, IgG4 can adapt by switching parts of its structure, making it less likely to trigger inflammation or allergic reactions. They are often associated with longer-term immune responses and can even help dampen overactive immune activity in certain conditions. While they play a normal role in immune regulation, elevated levels of IgG4 are also linked to specific autoimmune diseases and conditions involving organ inflammation.
