IgE-mediated Immune Response

IgE-mediated immune response is a specific reaction of the immune system triggered by allergens, such as pollen or certain foods. In this process, the body produces Immunoglobulin E (IgE) antibodies when exposed to these allergens. The IgE antibodies bind to immune cells called mast cells. When the person encounters the same allergen again, these mast cells release chemicals, including histamine, which can cause allergic reactions like sneezing, itching, or hives. This process is a protective response gone awry, leading to discomfort for those with allergies.
