IgA deposits
IgA deposits refer to the accumulation of a specific antibody called Immunoglobulin A (IgA) in the blood vessels of the kidneys. This buildup occurs when the immune system's antibodies mistakenly target the body's own tissues, leading to inflammation and damage. In the kidneys, these deposits can cause a condition known as IgA nephropathy, which may result in blood in the urine, protein leakage, and potential kidney impairment. Diagnosis typically involves a kidney biopsy showing these deposits, and treatment aims to reduce inflammation and preserve kidney function.
