IFSC
IFSC, or the Indian Financial System Code, is a unique alphanumeric identifier assigned to each bank branch in India. It facilitates electronic fund transfers such as NEFT and RTGS by pinpointing the exact branch where the account is held. An IFSC code typically consists of 11 characters: the first four letters identify the bank, the fifth is always '0' (used as a separator), and the last six characters specify the individual branch. This standardized system ensures secure, accurate, and efficient transfer of funds across banking networks in India.
