Ife cosmology

Ife cosmology is the spiritual and philosophical worldview of the Yoruba people, centered around the creation and structure of the universe. It teaches that the universe was created through a divine act by Olodumare (God), who then assigned the elements of nature and spirits to sustain it. The cosmos is seen as layered, with the spiritual realm, ancestors, and the physical world interconnected. Humanity’s purpose involves maintaining harmony with these spiritual forces, honoring ancestors, and understanding that life’s divine order is rooted in balance, community, and reverence for the sacred origins of all existence.
