IEEE 802.3bz
IEEE 802.3bz is a set of standards that defines how high-speed Ethernet networks operate using two types of cables—Gigabit Ethernet cables (Cat 5e) and faster, more capable cables (Cat 6). It allows devices like computers and switches to communicate at speeds of 2.5 Gbps and 5 Gbps, which is faster than the traditional 1 Gbps. This standard helps improve network performance, especially for data-intensive tasks like streaming, gaming, and large file transfers, by efficiently using existing cabling infrastructure without the need for new cables.
