IEEE 1394 (FireWire)
IEEE 1394, commonly known as FireWire, is a high-speed data transfer standard used to connect devices like cameras, external hard drives, and computers. It allows for fast communication between devices, facilitating tasks such as transferring large files quickly or connecting multiple devices in a chain. FireWire supports both data and power, meaning it can power devices while transferring data. Although less common today due to the rise of USB and Thunderbolt technologies, FireWire was widely used for its speed and versatility, especially in multimedia applications.
