Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension

Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension (IIH) is a condition where there is increased pressure in the fluid surrounding the brain and spinal cord without an obvious cause. This can lead to symptoms like headaches, vision problems, and ringing in the ears. IIH is often seen in young women who are overweight, but it can affect anyone. The exact reason for the pressure increase is not well understood, hence "idiopathic." Treatment may involve weight loss, medications to reduce pressure, and sometimes surgery if symptoms are severe or vision is at risk. Early diagnosis and management are important for preventing complications.
