idiopathic fibroblastoma

Idiopathic fibroblastoma is a benign (non-cancerous) growth composed of fibrous and connective tissue cells known as fibroblasts. "Idiopathic" means the exact cause of this growth is unknown. It typically develops as a soft, sometimes painless lump under the skin, often on the limbs or trunk. These tumors are slow-growing and generally do not spread or pose serious health risks. Diagnosis often involves imaging and biopsy. Treatment usually includes surgical removal if the lump causes discomfort or cosmetic concerns, with a good prognosis after excision.
