Ideological Possession
Ideological possession occurs when an individual becomes deeply attached to a set of beliefs or ideas, to the point that these beliefs dominate their perspective and limit their ability to consider alternative viewpoints. This often leads to rigid thinking, emotional investment, and a tendency to defend the ideology fiercely, sometimes at the expense of objectivity or openness. Essentially, the person is "possessed" by their ideological commitments, which can shape their perceptions, attitudes, and actions strongly, sometimes making it difficult to evaluate ideas critically or accept differing opinions.
