Ida Rolf (Founder of Rolfing)
Ida Rolf was a pioneering American osteopath and biomechanical teacher who founded Rolfing Structural Integration. This holistic therapy involves manipulating and re-educating the body's connective tissue (fascia) to improve posture, alignment, and movement. Rolf believed that physical well-being is closely linked to the body's structural integrity, and her technique aims to release tension and restore natural balance through targeted, deep tissue work. Rolfing is used to enhance athletic performance, alleviate pain, and promote overall health by encouraging the body's optimal structure and function.
