Id ul-Adha
Id ul-Adha, also known as the Festival of Sacrifice, is an important Islamic holiday commemorating Prophet Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son in obedience to God. To mark this act, Muslims around the world slaughter an animal, usually a sheep, goat, or cow, symbolizing sacrifice and devotion. The meat is then shared among family, friends, and those in need. The holiday emphasizes themes of faith, obedience, charity, and community bonding. It coincides with the Hajj pilgrimage to Mecca and is celebrated through prayers, special sermons, and festive meals over several days.
