Iconoscope

The Iconoscope was an early electronic camera tube used in television cameras during the 1930s and 1940s. It converts light from a scene into an electrical signal by focusing it onto a photosensitive surface. When light hits this surface, it creates an electrical charge pattern corresponding to the image. This charge is then amplified and processed to produce televised images. The Iconoscope was a pioneering technology that paved the way for modern video cameras, enabling live broadcasts by electronically capturing and transmitting visual information efficiently.
