Ichthyosis
Ichthyosis is a group of genetic skin disorders characterized by dry, thick, and scaly skin that often resembles fish scales. This condition occurs because the skin's outer layer doesn’t shed properly, leading to a buildup of dead skin cells. Symptoms can range from mild to severe and may involve itching or cracking. While some forms are present from birth, others develop later in life. Although there’s no cure, treatments like moisturizers, gentle skin care, and certain medications can help manage symptoms and improve skin appearance.
