Ichthyosaurus
Ichthyosaurus was a marine reptile that lived approximately 200 million years ago during the early Jurassic period. Resembling a modern dolphin in shape, it had a streamlined body, long snout, large eyes, and fins for swimming. It was a fierce predator, feeding on fish and squid. Despite its reptile classification, it adapted well to life in the ocean, with a body built for fast movement. Ichthyosaurus is an important example of how some reptiles evolved to thrive entirely in aquatic environments. Its fossils help scientists understand early marine ecosystems and evolutionary processes.
