IceCube-DeepCore

IceCube-DeepCore is a specialized part of the IceCube Neutrino Observatory in Antarctica designed to detect very faint signals from neutrinos—tiny, nearly massless particles that rarely interact with matter. DeepCore's dense array of sensors is located deep within the ice, allowing it to observe low-energy neutrinos that other parts of IceCube might miss. This helps scientists study cosmic phenomena like distant supernovae and the behavior of neutrinos themselves, expanding our understanding of the universe's most elusive particles.
