Icebridge

Operation IceBridge is a NASA-led scientific survey that monitors polar ice sheets, glaciers, and sea ice using aircraft equipped with advanced radar, lidar, and cameras. Conducted mainly in Antarctica and Greenland, it collects vital data on how ice is changing over time, especially in response to climate change. This information helps scientists understand ice mass loss, sea-level rise, and environmental impacts. By providing detailed, near-continuous observations, IceBridge fills gaps between satellite measurements, offering a comprehensive picture of polar ice dynamics crucial for climate research and future projections.
