Ibadat Khana
Ibadat Khana was a religious and intellectual gathering house established by Mughal Emperor Akbar in 1575 in Fatehpur Sikri, India. Its purpose was to promote dialogue among scholars of different faiths, including Hindus, Muslims, Christians, and others, fostering mutual understanding and exploring spiritual and philosophical ideas. This environment of open discussion reflected Akbar's policy of religious tolerance and his desire for harmony among diverse communities. The Ibadat Khana played an important role in encouraging interfaith dialogue during that period, contributing to Akbar’s efforts to create a more inclusive and tolerant society.
