Hypsometric equation

The hypsometric equation is a tool meteorologists use to estimate the difference in atmospheric pressure between two altitudes. It relates this pressure difference to the average temperature of the air between those heights and the height difference itself. Essentially, warmer air is less dense, so the pressure decreases more gradually with height in warmer conditions. By knowing the temperature profile and pressure at one point, the equation helps determine the elevation of another point, crucial for weather forecasting and understanding atmospheric layers.
