Hypotenuse

The hypotenuse is the longest side of a right-angled triangle, which is a triangle that has one 90-degree angle. It is always opposite the right angle. The hypotenuse can be found using the Pythagorean theorem, which states that the square of the hypotenuse's length equals the sum of the squares of the other two sides. For example, if the legs (other two sides) are 3 and 4 units, the hypotenuse is √(3² + 4²) = √(9 + 16) = √25 = 5 units.
