Hypochromic Anemia
Hypochromic anemia is a condition where red blood cells have less hemoglobin than normal, making them appear paler under a microscope. Hemoglobin is the protein responsible for carrying oxygen from the lungs to the body's tissues. When there's less hemoglobin, the blood can't transport oxygen as effectively, leading to fatigue, weakness, and shortness of breath. This type of anemia often results from iron deficiency, as iron is a key component of hemoglobin. Addressing the underlying cause, such as increasing iron intake, can help restore normal red blood cell function and improve symptoms.
