hypocapnia

Hypocapnia occurs when there is an abnormally low level of carbon dioxide (CO₂) in the blood. This often results from hyperventilation, where breathing is too rapid or deep, causing excessive CO₂ loss. Since CO₂ helps regulate the body's pH and blood flow, reduced levels can lead to symptoms like dizziness, tingling, muscle spasms, and fainting. Hypocapnia can be triggered by anxiety, panic attacks, or medical conditions affecting breathing. Proper breathing techniques or medical treatment are typically used to restore normal CO₂ levels and alleviate symptoms.
