Hypermobility
Hypermobility refers to joints that move beyond their normal range of motion due to differences in the connective tissues, such as ligaments, that support them. People with hypermobility can often stretch or bend joints more than usual without discomfort, but this increased flexibility can sometimes lead to joint instability, pain, or injury. It varies from person to person; some experience no problems, while others may require management to prevent discomfort. Hypermobility is sometimes linked to conditions like Ehlers-Danlos syndrome but can also exist independently. Understanding and proper support can help manage any associated issues.
