Hyper-CVAD
Hyper-CVAD is an intensive chemotherapy treatment used primarily for treating certain blood cancers like leukemia and lymphoma. It involves giving patients a combination of powerful anticancer drugs in cycles, targeting and destroying cancer cells in the blood and bone marrow. The schedule alternates between two chemotherapy regimens—hyper (higher intensity) and CVAD—to maximize treatment effectiveness. This approach aims to reduce cancer cells rapidly, but it can also affect healthy cells, leading to side effects. Hyper-CVAD is typically administered under close medical supervision because of its strength and potential risks.
